Hello Future Teacher,

Do you enjoy meeting people and having conversations from the heart? Can you imagine teaching English in a small city in Japan while being part of a warm and welcoming community? If this sounds like you, we’d be so happy to get to know you.

Our school has been teaching English in Chikugo City, southern Fukuoka, for over 40 years. We are proud to be recognized as a trusted and well-loved part of the local community. What we are looking for is not just a teacher, but someone who truly enjoys spending time with children and teaching with passion and energy.

We believe that learning happens best in a positive and supportive environment—where teachers encourage students with kindness, and both sides learn from each other. The relationships among staff, teachers, and students are as close as family, so new teachers can quickly feel at home and become part of our team.
About the Position

Life in Chikugo City
There are many rural towns in Japan, but Chikugo City is one that has seen steady population growth over the past 60 years. With JR Hainuzuka Station and an interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, the city offers plenty of convenience, including shops, banks, hospitals, a library, and city hall. Daily life here is very comfortable, with everything accessible within walking or cycling distance.

About Our Students
We welcome students of all ages, from toddlers as young as 2 to retirees, with elementary school children making up the largest group. Their English levels also cover a wide range, from complete beginners to advanced business English learners.
Classes include private, pair, and group lessons, with group sizes typically ranging from 3 to 6 students. Among the classes taught by native teachers, “English conversation” and “phonics/reading” are the most common. Lessons are lively, and students are generally ahead of the school curriculum. Both children and adults also enjoy private lessons tailored to their needs.
